Missing Old Friends

Workout: Ran on treadmill 2.1 miles, walked .5 miles

It was hard to wake up this morning. Normally, I don’t want to get out of bed for a short run but today I almost couldn’t. My run started at a 12:00 pace and I worked up to a 9:41 pace. I didn’t have much more than 2 miles in me and I’m certainly not waking up more than a half hour early for a workout unless I paid for it. Or maybe if the house is burning, I will run out of it. Maybe.

After the workout, breakfast looked exactly like this plus a banana…

The Magic Bullet turned that into this…

It’s not much to look at but I assure you my taste buds thought a Friday night party was going on in my mouth. (That didn’t sound right, but you know what I mean, you perv.)

Last night, the hubs and I went to our martial arts fitness class. He didn’t want to be in the picture. Psh. I don’t need him. I will take 80 pictures of myself thank you.

When we get to class, we have to scan in. Please enjoy the highly professional picture on my scan card.

There’s an all-ages Taekwondo class right before the fitness class. Yesterday, little munchkins were sparring in full gear.

Baby sparring gear is hilarious and these kids like kicking the crap out of each other. That’s fun to watch. Entertainment while stretching for class.

Not everyone was in class that said they would be, but I won’t mention any names (Ale*Jason*Sheila). Sheila is our normal instructor. This is her.

(Picture stolen from Facebook)

She looks sweet, but she’s a badass that will make you feel like a little girly-man. And when she skips class because she’s “tired,” she gets her face on my blog! (You’re next, Jason and Ale)

We left class a little early because our friend RT was in town. Hubs was a groomsman in RT’s wedding four years ago, but RT moved to Ohio shortly after. We’ve only seen him a couple times since he moved, which sucked because he is definitely one of the hub’s closest friends.

RT is literally one of the funniest muthers I have ever met. Fun fact about RT: He used to do stand up comedy.

Last night, I found out that RT has run a 5k, 10k, half marathon, and his first FULL marathon 3 weeks ago. He is a running junkie now, so I’m trying to convince him to do the Las Vegas Rock n Roll with me and Michelle.  Hubs was thrilled with our constant running conversation. He LOVED it!  <—-sarcasm

RT insisted on using the zoom. This worried me at first but I think it turned out alright.

It was awesome seeing RT again and I think he’ll be in town more often this year because the only crappier state than Florida is Ohio of work.

I’m just kidding all of you Ohio people. We all know Missouri is the worst.

How many states or countries have you lived in? (I’ve live in 2. Illinois and Florida. I’d like to expand that in the next 10 years.)
How many have you visited?  (Not including layovers in airports, I’ve visited 15: California, Washington, Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Delaware, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Iowa, and Hawaii.)

  1. I’m sorry RT, but you’re right. Ohio is a dump. Very anti-Ohio over here.

I’ve lived in Michigan and Virginia. I’m not sure if I’ll end up in another one, but I’d be up for it if the opportunity arose.

Visits? Pennsylvania, Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, Washington, Montana, California, Idaho, Arizona, Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. Oh, and Hawaii. 😀 Sheesh! That’s a lot of places!

I’ve been through (in a car) – Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and DC. So..saw them on the rode and rest stops! Hehe.

And cool that you got to see RT! Hope life is treating him well. 🙂

  3. HE NEEDS to run Vegas with us!!!!

I would be mad that you got to see RT and I didn’t, but this week has been nutso – so I’ll let it go 🙂

  4. Haha the picture on your card is hilarious! You should add visiting Canada to that list…well maybe not between December to March unless you want to see lots of snow!

  5. Hahaha your card pic make me laugh out loud!

I’ve lived in 3 states: dirty Jersey, Flo-Rida, and Texas. And I’ve visited NY, NJ, VA, NC, SC, GA, PA, MD, DE, LA, NV, MA .. I think that’s it!

  6. Becky

Ohioans were so good to us when PT’s truck broke down on the coldest day so far that winter (9 degrees w/ wind) Dec 2008…so I like OHIO! Good people there!

  7. Your ID picture has me cracking up!!!

I have lived in three states. That was plenty, we are settled here for good 🙂

And to answer your question on my blog–no speed work! I am still just trying to get back into running shape. Though, it is kinda fun to have no long races on the horizon–the longest run I will be doing in the next several months in a 5K 🙂

  8. Lisa

I’ve only lived here (MA), although every winter I say I am moving somewhere warm!!
Visited- FL, NH, VT, RI, CT, FL, NV, VA, DC, MD, OH, NY, PA, LA, SC.. hmm, probably more that I can’t think of. I’ve pretty much covered the Eastern side… 😉

What fitness class do you take at the Karate place? Sounds interesting.

  11. Love the scan card pic!!! I have only lived in California but I have visited Hawaii, Texas, Illinois, Florida, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Bahamas!

  12. Currently live in Utah, but have also lived in Iowa and South Dakota. Mark my word, I will not be back to the Midwest. Okay, just to visit.

  13. I’ve lived in two states (Washington + California). I’ve visited:
Oregon, Montana, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Florida, Idaho, Rhode Island, Maryland, Virginia, Illinois, & I’m sure I’m missing others.

WOW.. okay i could state a LOT Of states i havent been too but i have been to over 40 countries so im proud of that! iv onlylived in CA and London!

  15. How awesome is your blender thingy? It seriously takes me at least 15 minutes to make a smoothie everyday and that really cuts into my reality tv watching time. Which one do you use?

  16. Mz. Teri

That stripmall area where the karate place is looks familiar. Then again, most strip malls in Florida look the same. lol

I have a magic bullet. I got mine from Greg. He ordered his through a late night infomercial… he got the “special deal.” You know, the one – “But wait! If you order right now, we’ll send you TWO Magic Bullets for the price of ONE!” Since then, I give him a hard time about getting sucked into buying things from infomercials. lol

I do love my magic bullet for making smoothies though… that and chocolate mousse! 😀

I’ve lived in Wisconsin, Michigan, Florida, and London, UK (for about 4 months). I’ve been to more states than I can remember. Back in college I used to travel with the college choir during spring break. We traveled on tour busses and performed at lots of different places (mostly churches) and stayed with members of the churches. It was an interesting experience.

  17. omg I’ve been wanting a magic bullet for forever!!

    lived in: 1… texas. 😦
visited: oregon, louisiana, illinois, hawaii. Dang I need to travel more in the states.

  18. What do you use in your smoothies? I’m about to add that to my daily routine!

    • I usually use a half a cup of crushed ice, 3/4 scoop of cookies n cream protein powder, 1/2 cup of Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Breeze, a big hand full of spinach, and either a half or whole banana depending on how saucy I feel. :-) Tastes just like a milkshake. I’ve used vanilla protein powder too and it’s good…but chocolate makes it taste the best.

  19. Ouch to the Ohio comment. And ouch to the first response. Cleveland rocks, didn’t you hear?

Although some of Ohio is boonie-ville, so you can rip on that part.

I’ve lived in Ohio and Michigan. And Paris. Doesn’t that sound fancy…

I’ve visited (not counting driving through and stopping for Starbucks) Nevada, Illinois, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Florida, DC, Virginia, and West Virginia. Plus Canada (Ottawa and Quebec), France, Italy, and England. And Aruba.

I’d like to get to the Pacific sometime soon! And Puerto Rico.

    • Cleveland is actually where our friend lives. :-) I want to travel out of the country badly. And for some reason, I just can’t consider the Bahamas out of the country. Although, I’m still glad I went there.

  20. I’m running RnR Vegas!!!!! Woohoo!!
I have lived in Texas all but about 6 months of my life. : )
Visited? Hawaii, California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado, Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, and Tennessee,

  21. Jason
