Three Dead Zed

So, this post isn’t my typical subject matter but I wanted to tell you all about something my hubs is really excited about. You may know that he’s a graphic artist. For the past 6 months, he’s been working on creating a video game with his team at work. Well, our work. (Remember we work together?)

This is the first time they’ve ever done anything like this, so it’s been a big learning curve for everyone involved. Most of the team, including my hubs, have put in tons of unpaid overtime hours to meet the game schedule and now it’s finally done.

Meet their baby – Three Dead Zed.

Three Dead Zed

Three Dead Zed is a “light-hearted” zombie game. I’ve played a few stages and it’s pretty fun and funny. Anyway, the reason I’m telling you this is because the game is finally going to be available for sale on January 24th for $5.00. Hubs is really excited and nervous about it. If there’s anything he loves more than pizza and me, it’s video games. So it’s a dream of his to actually be a part of creating one.

So if you or someone you know likes platform games that feature cats in tin foil hats…

…or manly-looking she-zombies, you might enjoy this one. 🙂

Watch the trailer and see what you think. You can also get the latest updates by following them on Facebook or Twitter and it’s available for pre-sale right now on Gamer’s Gate and Desura.

Anyway, I’m really proud of him. He’s been working really hard on this so it would be cool if the game was successful. If it is, it will give the team freedom to do more games. If it’s not, then I might be blogging from a cardboard box.

Just kidding. Kinda.

  1. Great post! Looks like such a cute game. 🙂

  2. That’s awesome! Congrats to your hubs? Isn’t it every guy’s dream to design a video game…and get paid for it?

  3. WOO HOO, Hubs! I’ll pass this along to the video game player in the house – Dear Hubby.

  4. Go Fabian! I don’t play video games, but I’ll buy it just to support him. I love people living their dreams!!!

  5. That is crazy awesome! I love video games, and I love zombies, and I love you and your husband, I will definitely be buying this! $5? Serious score. Huge virtual high five from me to your husband! And a little ass pat to you so you don’t feel left out.

  6. Hey don’t knock it. Some of those IKEA cardboard boxes are surprisingly roomy. Thanks, I’ll be here all week.
Well done to FF and the team. I’ll be downloading for sure.

Supportive wife award to you, and high five to Fabian! I’ll get my gamer sons to check it out and support him and his team. My favourite game is crib (does anyone even know what that is ? — 15-2, 15-4 and there ain’t no more), so short of mailing you a $5.00 bill (Canadian – worth approx. $4.93 US), the boys will be a much better bet.

    • My 12 year old pre-ordered it. I think he was somewhat suspicious when I told him I had a game I wanted him to look at. He was surprised it wasn’t a “learn to spell” or something. Thanks – I got some pre-teen street cred points. PS – kids are home from school here today as it is too cold for buses to run … and it’s my one day off work – they’re cramping my style a bit.

That’s awesome! Congratulations to the Hubs!

  9. Congrats! I’m totally not into zombies, but pretty much everyone else I know is, so I’ll have to spread the word!

    And hide the twinkies.

  13. That’s pretty baller!*

  14. Super cool! I work for a gaming company, so I understand how much hard work goes into game creating. Rock star, & I love the graphics. High Five to Mr. Paula. 🙂
