I’m having an awesome time with my family in San Diego but I think I brought the crappy Florida weather with me because it’s been cloudy, humid, and raining or misting since I arrived. The weather let up for a little bit this morning, so I went for a short run and took a few pictures to share with you.
Fall leaves in my mom’s front yard. We’ll call this, “things we don’t have in Florida that excite me.”
See, Melissa? I can go on pretty runs too.
The hills here always kill me. They look so innocent in pictures.
This one brought me to an almost 13:00 minute mile pace. By the time I got to the top, I had to stop and put my hands on my knees to catch my breath. Nothing like a good hill to make you feel out of shape.
You may have noticed, I haven’t been bitching about my running shoes lately. I’m still rocking the Brooks Ghost 5’s and they’re treating me pretty well.
In the end, I ran 3.13 miles in 30 minutes. That’s a 9:36 pace which isn’t too bad considering I suck at hills because I never run them.
Plus, at least I was still faster than this guy.
Now I’m off to get my nails done and go to the mall with my mommy. 🙂
That snail picture had me laughing. I needed that 🙂
Lovely post…love the pictures! Some day I will have to visit Cali…plus I do have a childhood friend moving out there very soon. Sniff sniff.
Glad your shoes are working out…and yes that snail pic was good. Keep having fun!
Your feet look so tiny in that picture. lol
Hills always look less threatening in pictures than they are in real life. It’s BS.
I love fall running! I am excited you get to experience it!
Yes! May the snail racing commence.
OMG, your last pic is cracking me up! I think that is a fast pace too 🙂
Glad you’re having fun!! Autumn leaves make me excited too.
If you want to see leaves in Florida, come to our house. My husband claims we have the only tree in Florida that sheds its leaves. It’s true — we have dead leaves EVERYWHERE. I wish they were pretty and golden-red like the ones in your mom’s yard. Ours are an ugly brown.
I’m liking the Ghost 5s too. I’m only a few runs in but I dig ’em. Enjoy your trip!
We should just go out there an paint them! We will bring fall to your yard.
Nice work on the scenic run. Remember when I got lost on that trail a month or so ago? It was really pretty there. But a girl was running there alone after dark the other night (duh, but still) and was assaulted. #neverrunningthereAGAIN
Yeah, I’ve stayed away from the park where I saw the guy held at gunpoint myself. Sucks because I loved it there!
