As Pearl Jam once said, I'm Still Alive

*tap, tap* Is this thing on?  *clears throat*

So it only took four weeks, but I’m running again! I’m not running fast and I’m not running far, but I’m running without pain up to a whopping two miles at a time. Well, I’m running without pain during the run. After, my hip is usually sore and tight. So I sucked it up and made an orthopedic doctor’s appointment for next week. I wrote ophthalmologist at first. Well, whatever. It’s an “O” doctor. I’m sure they all take care of the same thing. Maybe it’s nothing. Maybe it’s Maybelline. I’ll let you guys know after my appointment.

Anyway, this means I won’t be running my back-up race on Sunday because I enjoy staying uninjured. I don’t even want to talk about the cool front that just happens to be coming through this weekend because it makes me even more stabby that I’m missing the race. Let’s talk about things that don’t make me stabby. Here’s what’s been happening lately while I haven’t been running.

A little of this.

Ok, a lot of that. White peach mimosas are hard to say no to.

A lot of this.

That was the same day as the white peach mimosas. In a related story, I was in bed by 8:00 pm.

A lot of this.

That’s my work desk, in which I never seem to leave lately. Life is all work – school – delicious alcohol these days. In that order.

Some of this.

I have been going back and forth on buying those tickets for a month now. Hubs and I love John Mulaney but there are $30 in Ticketmaster fees on top of the $25 ticket price so I kept putting off buying them. Turns out, I’m a student and I get them for free. What the what? It’s like my tuition is paying for itself! Now I just need to body check some people in line to make sure I get in since admission isn’t guaranteed with free tickets.

Hubs made friends with his arch nemesis – the feline.

He is deathly allergic to cats and cats dunt curr.

I changed my hair. Don’t ask me what color because it looks different in every picture I take.

 Before – After – After

This is the start my hair-dyeing downward spiral. I’ll keep dyeing it until it’s almost black, then I’ll start lightening it until I look exactly like that before picture. #circleofhairlife

And that’s about it. Not a lot of excitement in these parts. I’ve have been reading a lot. When I can’t run, I walk and read on the treadmill. So I’ll have another book post coming up for my three book fans.

  1. I am your book fan!

Oh man. Winnie will snuggle anything with legs, so she is gonna be alllll over FF! He better watch out. Although Winnie doesn’t usually bother most people with cat allergies (Evan included). Also, I enjoy his beads. St. Patty’s?

    Love your hurrrr. So hot.

      Yes! St. Pattys.

FF might need a fur-free room to sleep in. His allergies are crazy. And any love he does not give Winnie, you know I will make up for. Now that she’s drinking age, we’re gonna have a good time together. 🙂

  2. Well the good news is that both photos of your new hair look great! So you can apparently pull off every color. I went all black once and with my skin toned I just looked scary.

Hope the ophthalmologist goes well and you figured out what’s up. Pain free running is where it’s at.

As one of your book review fans, I await your words of wisdom. I am also deathly allergic to cats … and they love me. My idea is that people who are trying to find a life partner should pretend they are allergic to potential mates … and they will draw them in like moths to a flame (or, like cats to the runny-nosed, swollen-eyed).
