Oh Hai There San Diego

Lots going on over in these parts (that I might be able to talk about at some point later). Basically, life and work have been kicking my butt. So what’s a girl to do but go visit her mommy and big brother in San Diego. I arrived yesterday.

The flight was interesting. Usually I’m a super anti-social flyer. I say nothing to the people next to me  unless I need them to move to go to the bathroom.  This time, I made super friends with the dude next to me, talked about TV and SNL for half the flight, started drinking with him, and now he’s my Facebook friend.

I got a text from my brother as soon as I landed. He thinks he’s funny.

While I was waiting for my luggage, I took a picture of this. At the time, I wasn’t sure if it was the drinks or if I was actually seeing someone with a suitcase inside a shopping bag. Nope. Not the drinks.

My brother picked me up, gave me a tour of his new house, and then we picked up my mom and went to dinner at Bushfire Kitchen (kinda like Chipotle without the burritos) where I proceeded to drink.

Can you see him reaching for my beer in the picture above? Is nothing sacred anymore?

After dinner, we hung out for a bit, watched an episode of Archer, and I was in bed by 10 pm. I woke up at 6:45 am, went for a hilly ass 3.5 mile run by 7:15, and was back shortly after 8 am.

I left my Garmin at home so I’m going old school with Runkeeper while I’m here. Here’s a panoramic of one of the views from my run. Not too shabby.

It’s all fun and games running down a hill until you have to run back up it. After running on a treadmill for the past month, my legs were not a fan. Oh and I guess I should mention that I’m running again. I went to the doctor about my hip, had some x-rays, and they found nothing. It’s still only 85% better but I guess since 85% allows me to run, I’m ok with it.

Anyway, I’m on a short vacation and I’ve already done more before 8 am than I do on most non-vacation days. I think this time change has turned me into a morning person overnight. It has also turned me into a thief because I used some unsuspecting person’s ironically named wifi (slynet) to write this post.
