I Love BJs

Yesterday was a good day. šŸ™‚

After the Hubs got home from work, we went to dinner at BJs Brewhouse (Birthday Girl’s choice).

We got almost exactly the same thing as last time because it was so amazing and we didn’t want to screw up a good thing. I forgot my camera, so please excuse the reuse.

We had Chicken Lettuce WrapsĀ as an appetizer:

Creole Tilapia for the main course.

And the Oatmeal Raisin Walnut Pizookie for dessert.

(That’s a pizza cookie by the way, and if you haven’t had one before, run don’t walk to BJ’s and get one.)

I was a little worried about the walnut part of the dessert since I hate them, but I couldn’t taste them at all. It was DELICIOUS. Like, TOO delicious. We ate half the dessert and then walked out. 😦

After dinner, we went to see X-Men: First Class.

It was really good and I loved how it tied into the other X-Men movies. I could nerd out on theĀ different actors in the movie, likeĀ Jennifer Lawrence as Mystic and how I think I’m going to love her in The Hunger Games now. OrĀ how one of the actors was the same chick from Bridesmaids and Insidious…but IĀ won’t.

Ok, I will.Ā

Ā

The only thing that annoyed me is how much James McAvoy did this:

We get it. You’re using your powers and the ole finger-to-the-temple signifies that. But really, did you have to do it ALL the time?

Speaking of, IĀ love me some James McAvoy. Is it the accent? Is it the blue eyes? Is it the fact that if I saw him at a bar, I’m pretty sure I could hit that? I don’t know.

Now, I’m back to work. It was so nice having a day off randomly in the middle of the week. Now just two more work days till the Katy Perry concert on Thursday. šŸ™‚

Who do you love that’s not an obvious heart throb? (Besides James McAvoy, I love Topher Grace. I’m sure Michelle will remind me of the others I love in the comments. Hee.)

What’s your favorite comic book movie? (X-Men 2 hands down. Hulk is secondĀ – the first one with Eric Bana, not the Ed Norton one. Dark Knight is probably 3rd for me. Don’t judge my placement of Dark Knight. This is my blog! šŸ™‚ )

Dinner with Friends

Last night, the hubs and I met up with Michelle and our friend Leslie at BJ’s Brewhouse by Mall at Millennia.

(Stolen from Google)

When we arrived, we were immediately seated by a guy that looked like Steve-O from Jackass. ā€œSteve-Oā€ was convinced he knew Michelle and asked her if he looked familiar to her. Um, yes. You look like Steve-O. When the answer was no, I assured ā€œSteve-Oā€ that he knew Michelle from ā€œthe clubs.ā€

The best part about a sarcastic sense of humor is when people you don’t know have no clue you are joking. I’m pretty sureĀ “Steve-O” left wondering which club he hooked up with Michelle at.

Hubs and I started with the Thai Shrimp Lettuce Wraps for an appetizer (Michelle had these for her meal.) I forgot my camera too, so these pictures are all stolen from her.

Really good, but not filling.

BJ’s has a menu of items ā€œUnder 575 caloriesā€ so I ordered the Creole Tilapia from there and it was AMAZ-ing.

The salsa on top had the perfect amount of kick to it and the fish was awesome. Usually I’m a mahi-mahi girl, so I was really surprised.

Whenever I go to a restaurant, I read the dessert menu first. That way I know if I should leave room in mah belly or order something lighter. I saw a pizookie on the menu and decided that it will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine.

I ordered the Pizookie Trio andĀ chose the Cookies and CrĆØme, Peanut Butter, and Red Velvet Cake flavors. Yeah, that’s my spoon waiting in the upper left for Michelle’s slow ass to take the picture so I could dig in.

I’m not sure if you know what a pizookie is, but it’s basically 1 part angel tearsĀ combined with 2 parts kitten souls andĀ then topped with ice cream.

Tastes goooood.

We all really likedĀ BJ’s Brewhouse. Ok, I loved it and will definitely go back. They had me at “pizookie.” It was fun meeting up with Michelle and Leslie. Plus, none of usĀ had seen Leslie in a couple years, so it was nice to catch up.

After hubs and I got home, we went to bed early, which happens 1% of the time. Going to bed early means I woke up at 5:00 am and 5:30 am, thought about working out, and then didn’t. You won this time, lazy.

Now it’s time to get some work done and wallow in pizookie guilt.

Do you read the dessert menu first? šŸ™‚
